St. Luke AME Church

St. Luke African Methodist Episcopal Church has been a true grassroots endeavor by the Lawrence community. Recent renovations have restored this fabulous early Lawrence church that has a rich history that they are proud to share and continue its legacy. The LPA opened a Restricted Use Fund Account to provide financial sponsorship. The building was placed on the register of Kansas historical buildings in 2001 because of its connection to Langston Hughes.
