The Friends of Oak Hill will be hosting an Earth Day spring cleanup at Oak Hill on Sunday, April 22d, from 1 p.m to 4 p.m. We will be focusing our efforts on cleaning up the general areas around several historically significant monuments and on picking up large sticks and tree limbs throughout the cemetery. Parks and Rec officials say that stick pickup is very helpful before the mowing season begins and in preparation for Memorial Day.
We will meet at the front gates of Oak Hill at 1 p.m., give a brief overview of the work day and then we will disperse to beautify Oak Hill! The city will be providing lawn waste bags and curbside pickup. Volunteers are reminded to please wear sunscreen, bring water and gardening/work gloves.
